It was really simple.
- Brown bacon and set aside to drain
- Reserve about 2-3 tablespoons of the bacon fat in the pan and add about a tablespoon of olive oil.
- Add in about 3-4 tablespoons of flour (no I didn't use whole wheat this time, used regular white for semi-authenticity)
- Cook the flour for about 5 minutes
- Add in approximately 2 cups of milk and whisk to combine
- Add in the cooked bacon pieces, stir, let simmer for just a minute or two. I added in about a teaspoon of truffle oil at this point. Be careful though, it's pretty strong stuff. So start out with a little bit and then add more as necessary
- Toast some wholegrain bread
- Ladle on the sauce and stuff your face
